Minehead Revisited

People part with parts of lives,

At every step their necks are bared

To beach-balls, bat and base ball caps,

Who would suck each dreary Monday

And centuries of Fridays.

Two scarlet points

Of candy-floss and Bric-a-brac.

Perhaps because there's nothing here,

That ambling families and gray couples

Swap seven turns of freedom

For each passing year,

Amongst fast food and beer.
